Easy Halloween Treat Recipes to Make This Spooky Season

Halloween is the perfect excuse to get a little creative—and a little spooky! We asked our Happy Planner Brand Ambassadors to share some of their favorite Halloween treats, and they delivered plenty of frightfully fun inspiration.

HALLOWEEN CANDY BARK

This Halloween candy bark is the cutest little treat and so easy to make! It comes together in just a few minutes and is such a fun addition to a Halloween party, movie night, or spooky get-together. Just add your favorite Halloween candies and sprinkles, let everything set, and break it into pieces. Super simple, festive, and so much fun!

Yields: 10 - 12 serving(s)

Prep Time: 5 mins

Total Time: 2 hrs 35 mins

Ingredients:

  • 2 (4.4-ounce) bars semisweet or milk chocolate, broken into pieces
  • Halloween candy, small candy googly eyes, small candy bones

Directions: 

  1. Line a small, rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Place chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second increments, stirring between each, until melted.

  3. Spread in a thin layer on prepared baking sheet.

  4. Top with candy, googly eyes, and candy bones.

  5. Cool to room temperature, and then chill until firm, at least 2 hours. Once firm, break into bite-size pieces.

HALLOWEEN KIWI MONSTERS

Looking for a spooky-cute Halloween treat that’s easy, healthy, and kid-approved? These Kiwi Monsters are the perfect little snack for a Halloween party, classroom celebration, or just a fun afternoon treat! They’re made with juicy kiwi, strawberries, and a few simple decorations to turn an ordinary fruit slices into an adorable little monster.

Ingredients:

  • Kiwi, peeled and sliced 
  • Mini marshmallows  
  • Mini chocolate chips or Nutella 
  • Strawberries, sliced 
  • Optional- yogurt 

Directions: 

  1. Prep the kiwi and strawberries : Peel and slice the kiwi into small pieces. Sliced the strawberries into thin pieces.
  2. Create the monster: Place 2 kiwi slices on top of each other, then add a strawberry and top it off with another kiwi slice.  
  3. Add some personality: Use mini marshmallows and chocolate chips or Nutella to create a silly monster eyes. 
  4. Chill & serve: Refrigerate until ready to serve. These little monsters are sweet, simple, and just spooky enough! 

SWEET BIKO GRAVESTONES

If you haven’t tried Biko before, it’s a chewy, sweet Filipino sticky rice dessert made with glutinous rice, coconut milk, and brown sugar. For Halloween, I gave this classic Filipino favorite a fun little makeover by shaping it into adorable gravestones and creating a mini edible graveyard! The result is a deliciously chewy, coconutty and caramelized treat that’s perfect for Halloween parties, family gatherings, or a fun Filipino-inspired Halloween dessert table.  

Ingredients (For the Biko): 

  • 2 cups glutinous/sticky rice 
  • 2 cups water 
  • 400 mL full-fat coconut milk 
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar 
  • ½ teaspoon salt 
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 

Ingredients (For the Caramel Topping): 

  • ½ cup coconut milk 
  • ½ cup brown sugar 
  • Pinch of salt 
  • 1 tablespoon butter, optional 

Directions: 

  1. Rinse and cook glutinous rice with 2 cups of water until tender.  
  2. In a large pan, combine coconut milk, brown sugar, salt, and vanilla. Cook over medium-low heat until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Add the cooked sticky rice and stir continually until thick, sticky, and glossy.
  4. Transfer to a pan and press firmly into an even layer.
  5. For the topping, combine coconut milk, brown sugar, and salt in saucepan. Cook over medium-low heat until thick and glossy.
  6. Spread the caramel topping over the biko.
  7. Cool, then refrigerate for about 1 hour for easier cutting. 
  8. Cut into small squares and decorate with crushed biscuit and Halloween sprinkles 

PURPLE PEOPLE EATER HALLOWEEN MOCKTAIL

Ingredients (Mocktail Version):

  • ½ ounce grenadine (1 Tablespoon)
  • 2 drops blue food coloring
  • 6 ounces lemonade (¾ cup)
  • lemon wedges
  • ping pong eyeballs

Directions:

  1. Cut a thicker ring of lemon, approximately ¼ inch thick. Cut the circle into triangles. Cut a
    small slit into the middle of the rind edge of the triangle, just past the rind (not too far up)
    and not on a seam of the lemon segments. Set these aside.
  2. Pour the grenadine and blue food coloring into the glass. Stir to combine so it is purple.
  3. Fill the glass with ice.
  4. Pour the lemonade (and sparkling water/lemon lime soda if using) on top. Stir gently if needed for the drink to blend.
  5. Garnish with a lemon wedge on the rim and a ping pong eyeball. Serve.
