Plan Your Garden

Happy Spring! The weather’s getting warmer, and buds are blooming all around. Since April 14th is National Gardening Day, we thought this would be the perfect time to show you how to use our gardening products to help your build a great garden! National Gardening Day was founded in 2018 by Cool Springs Press and is observed by the National Garden Bureau who promotes gardening practices all year round.

Get your garden on as we use a color block layout to track greenery growth and create a schedule for proper plant care. Make visual reminders with dry-erase and corkboards. And be truly green by upcycling Happy Planner accessories for plant markers!

AT YOUR DESK: CREATE A CUSTOM GARDENING HAPPY PLANNER

We’re using our 2023 Made to Bloom Happy Planner and Don’t Stop Growing Sticker Value Pack to create a custom garden planner. The monthly dashboards are a great place to keep a harvest log and write notes in your gardening journal. Note what you’ve planted and track progress at the beginning of each month. Use the weather icons in the monthly spreads to look ahead and see what days are best for planting, tending, and pruning. Add a to-do list sticker in the notes section and decide what your garden goals are for the month.

The weekly spreads in the color block layout give you six vertical box spaces to either use for specific plants or plant groupings. Label herbs, flowers, succulents, vegetables, annuals with flag stickers or simply write yourself reminders. The market list stickers also fit perfectly into any weekly column. The grid section on the side of the weekly spreads is also a perfect place to use the habit tracking stickers to make sure you’re staying on top of your tending tasks.

We explored the idea in a previous blog of using page protectors to store reference material or photos of your plants. See how they’re coming along during your entire process by documenting their growth with pictures! You can even grab some snap-in envelopes and store seed packs for future planting.

AROUND THE HOUSE: PLAN YOUR GARDEN USING DRY-ERASE, CORKBOARDS + DECALS

If you’re the type of planner who likes to see reminders right in front of you, we got you. Whether it’s in your office, kitchen, or anywhere around the home our Homebody Corkboard and Dry-Erase Board Set helps you plan big picture. Use the corkboard to pin your gardening ideas (or photos). The accompanying removable decal set even has specific reminders for watering your plants! Decals can be placed on your whiteboard or any similar type of clean, flat surface (like a mirror).

IN THE GARDEN: UPCYCLE PACKAGING + DISCS AS GARDEN MARKERS

We love this idea. 🥰 In the true spirit of environmentalism, and making the most of your Happy Planner, we explored the idea in an earlier post of using discs as garden markers! Using discs, packaging, washi tape, and stickers you can create your own custom markers. Simply cut some of the plastic packaging you usually discard into strips, use washi tape to attach the strips onto a disc of your choice, and top with a vegetable or plant sticker. Place the disc into the dirt and watch your garden GROW!
