DIY ADVENT CALENDAR/BUCKET LIST

By: Christopher | @planyourtruth

Let’s create a Holiday Advent Calendar–style Bucket List! This project is a fun and
interactive way to add a little joy to each day of December while using supplies you
already have on hand.

To put it together, I started with a monthly layout as the base and filled 25 of the boxes with simple daily prompts—things like watching a Christmas movie, doing a small act of kindness, enjoying a cozy treat, or wrapping presents. Of course, this is the perfect time to bring in lots of festive stickers!

SUPPLIES

  • Happy Planner monthly layout page
  • Old Happy Planner dividers or scrapbook paper (festive designs + colors)
  • Pens/markers for writing and decorating
  • Your favorite Happy Planner holiday stickers
  • Glue stick or double-sided tape

DIRECTIONS

  1. To create an advent-style “door” effect, I cut small squares of scrapbook paper and
glued down just one side over each box.
  2. Then I decorated the surrounding space with holiday stickers to tie the whole design together.
  3. The end result is a cheerful, personalized bucket list that brings intentionality and magic to the month.

It’s easy to customize, simple to recreate, and a wonderful way to make December feel a little more special.

SUPPLIES

  • Red Discs
  • Green cardstock
  • Read and white string or ribbon
  • Glue dots

DIRECTIONS

  1. Start by threading two red Happy Planner discs onto a piece of red and white string, placing a glue dot between the discs and another behind them to secure them in place on the string.
  2. Then add a third disc on top, using another glue dot to create a cute little berry cluster.
  3. Next, cut holly leaves from green cardstock in whatever size you like.
  4. Use glue dots to attach the leaves to the bottom edge of each berry cluster, layering them so they fan out naturally.
  5. Repeat along the length of the string until your garland is as long and full as you’d like!
  6. Hang it up for a simple, crafty, and planner-loving holiday decoration!

DIY HOLIDAY WREATH

By: Lorna | @kismetplanning

This year, I made a Holiday Wreath for my planner room! I had such a fun time cutting up my old Happy Planner Dividers into shapes of leaves and sticking everything together! One of the dividers has this quote, “Making Spirits Bright” so I added extra string to hang down the middle, making the whole project perfect fun for the holiday season!

SUPPLIES

  • Happy Planner Dividers and Discs
  • Pen/Markers to draw out leaves
  • Scissors to cut out the leaves
  • Tape to put together your leaves and discs
  • String for hanging

DIRECTIONS

  1. Cut your leavesUse scissors to cut your old Happy Planner dividers into leaf shapes. Vary the sizes and styles to give your wreath a fuller look.
  2. Add detailsUse pens or markers to draw simple veins or outlines on each leaf for extra dimension.
  3. Build the wreath shapeArrange your Happy Planner discs in a circle to form the base of the wreath. Adjust the size by adding or removing discs as needed.
  4. Attach the leavesUse tape on the back of each leaf to secure them around the discs. Overlap the pieces for a layered, natural wreath style.
  5. Add a decorative centerIf one of your dividers has a quote or pattern you love—like “Making Spirits Bright”—cut it out and hang it from the center using string.
  6. Finish with a hangerTie a loop of string at the top of the wreath so it’s ready to hang in your planner room or craft space.
