Citrine Planner: First Impressions & Wish List
"This planner is definitely as shown on the site, and several elements should work really well for me. There are just two things I wish were different after seeing it in person. Obviously, I haven’t used it yet, so these are just initial impressions. What I Love 1. The spiral binding I LOVE that this is a spiral planner. The disc binding is fine and is what I’ve been using for the past few years, but it’s a bit bulky, making the planner less convenient to toss in my bag or store with other desk items. 2. The monthly consolidation I really like that the Citrine planner brings to-do lists, goals, etc. together at the monthly level. This eliminates the need to transfer unfinished items from week to week, which works well for me since I tend to brain-dump and then organize those items around the week or weeks ahead. There’s also a small space for a to-do list on each weekly page. 3. The paper quality The paper quality is actually what got me started with Happy Planners in the first place. It’s the perfect weight and thickness for my favorite Pilot Precise V5 rolling ball pens and similar pens. I’ve experienced no bleed-through unless I get a little too heavy-handed. 4. The front-cover pockets The pockets inside the front cover will definitely be helpful. I previously used the translucent page protectors, which aren’t currently available for the Citrine line. My Wish List / Design Preferences 1. Full-page monthly dividers The monthly divider tabs are half-sheets, which create a noticeable uneven writing surface. For that reason alone, I’d prefer the monthly spread to serve as the tab, with the supplemental information following the monthly spread as a full page. This would preserve the value of the lists and notes while eliminating the broken writing surface. 2. More Citrine-specific accessories Currently, accessories seem to be limited to theme packs and filler paper. I did order the filler paper, but I don’t generally buy theme packs because they include components I’m simply not interested in. I’d love to see Citrine-specific page protectors—or even a Citrine paper punch—considered for future product development."
