THE BACK-TO-SCHOOL TEACHER CHECKLIST

Our Classroom Ready Checklist

The time to get back into the classroom is right around the corner! Maybe you’re excited or not quite ready. That’s why we’re here to provide a prime teacher checklist for classroom prep. Naturally, we’re recommending some of the latest items from our Back-to-School Collection (made especially for teachers)!

1.Select the perfect planner.

If you haven’t had the chance to check out our most recent release of Back-to-School essentials... now’s the time! Choose the planner size and design that suits you best. Our teacher planners come in a Monday-Friday layout made to maximize space for weekly plans. We suggest selecting an accompanying sticker pack to make the most of your plans and your process!

2. Set up your grade book.

Grading is a part of living that #teacherlife. Help your future self and get your grade book going! Either use the classroom checklist in the back of your teacher planner or grab some of our teacher checklist filler paper to add to a notebook. Use a previous year’s cover and discs and create a custom gradebook with filler paper and/or an accessory pack

3. Write a welcome letter for students to take home.

Say “hello” and set expectations for the coming year with a personalized welcome note. You might handwrite all your notes if you’re feeling especially creative. But printing out multiple copies is also an efficient option. Grab a sticker pack and have fun with it!

4. Plan lessons and activities.

Time to put your planner to its ultimate use! Set your lessons for each week in the upcoming school year and think of some activities to go along with them. Use the extra space provided in the Monday-Friday teacher layout. If you’re someone who prefers weekends in your planner, our Disney Minnie Mouse All Smiles Teacher Happy Planner utilizes a Weekly Teacher layout and still provides all the motivational teacher messaging you love!

5. Create a classroom layout.

For all your planning extras, grab a notebook and sketch out ideas for your classroom organization! We recommend writing your classroom’s dimensions on the page and brainstorming before making any big moves. Create multiple versions and find what makes the ideal learning environment. Take it a step further and draft a seating chart!

6. Update your displays.

Whether you're sharing information with your students or adding a bit of fun and direction, keeping your displays fresh gives you a chance to stretch your own imagination! This is also a great time to put some of our larger sticker packs to good use.

We hope that this has given you a good starting point for diving back into the classroom! If you have anything to add to this list, let us know by commenting or tag us on socials @the_happy_planner! We can’t wait to see all your learning environments come to life!

Happy Teaching!
