Make wellness and gratitude a priority in your life.
World Health Day is a global health awareness day that has been celebrated on April 7th ever since its inception in 1950. Each year, The World Health Organization (WHO) selects a global health initiative to build awareness.
This year, World Health Day is highlighting the importance of physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Sometimes it can be difficult to prioritize yourself so our Squad is sharing some ways that help put themselves first.
CHECK-IN WITH YOURSELF
By: Anabel | @thecurvyplanner
As a planner a lot of my stress comes from plans changing or doing things I just don't want to do. In therapy, I asked “how can I get myself to do things I don't want to do?” My therapist said, "PLAN" and gave me 3 steps that I now live by:
- Write down your plans
- Write out some possible obstacles you may struggle with. For example, How will you cope in a healthy way?
- Prepare yourself with a plan and a list of healthy coping skills for when things don't go as planned to get through challenging situations.
Check out Anabel's quick video on how she uses planning as her way to destress:
THE ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE
By: Diana | @planningplanningplanning
Take time to journal and reflect on what makes life special. Set aside time to make a list of things you are grateful for whether it’s the people in your life, your pets, or activities that make you happy. Journaling, scrapbooking, and memory keeping are great ways to preserve these moments for you to look back on.
